500 Miles

The inaugural annual Equal Adventure Festival will take place at Glenmore Lodge and Cairngorm National Park from 4-5 July 09. The festival is being organised by Equal Adventure, and is hosted by Glenmore Lodge who are supporting the event.

All you need is a positive attitude - don’t worry about your ability or agility

THIS PROJECT IS BEING PART-FINANCED BY THE SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT AND THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY [Cairngorms Local Action Group] LEADER 2007-2013 Programme.

What is the Equal Adventure Festival 09?

The Equal Adventure Festival 09 is a weekend event that comprises a number of discreet challenges, time-tabled over two days. The event is open to anyone in the UK and beyond regardless of ability.

The philosophy behind the festival is to provide an inclusive team event involving a range of outdoor activities that challenge all individuals regardless of ability.

The challenges will take place on both the water and land and each team will be given the opportunity to gain points by visiting checkpoints placed at strategic locations around the Glenmore Lodge area. All of the activities have been designed to allow individuals to take up a challenge at their own level.

In addition to a physical challenge, inclusive teams may be tested on their speed, endurance and problem solving abilities.

The challenges are spaced out into competition slots, to allow for all competitors to take the time that they need to deal with their personal care needs.
