Inclusive Health Check

Introduction

We provide you with a snap-shot of the accessibility of your current marketing, practice and facilities. The assessment will outline the costs and benefits of staff
training opportunities and identifying the value of undertaking a more in-depth access audit.

Objectives

  • To provide a walk and talk assessment of your current physical and sensory accessibility
  • To review your current service delivery
  • To provide you with a start point from which to plan the development of an inclusive culture within your organisation.

Course Content

An average day involves an on-site visit, during which we explore your current practice in relation to the inclusion of disabled people. We discreetly observe your staff undertaking their normal practices, walk and talk through your facilities and scan your current marketing material and administrative processes. Towards the end of the day we facilitate an open discussion with key decision makers regarding the value of inclusive practice. We conclude by providing a snap-shot of your current accessibility. After the day you will receive an action plan, with clear indications of the next steps for developing accessibility.

Duration

One day on-site visit with follow-up outline report.

Follow-up

Use the EAT Modular training programme to ensure that your staff develop their confidence and ability to deliver inclusive activities. Use the links page on the EA website to help you develop your understanding of the broader issues surrounding access and inclusion.
