Job Description:

A multi-faceted role that will expand Equal Adventure’s marketing capacity, lead on customer relations and promote sales and training in both physical and virtual environments by;

Developing, and supporting the implementation of a creative marketing strategy – to include events, seminars, festivals and trade shows

Co-ordinating marketing and promotion opportunities

Co-ordinating the Equal Adventure training programme.

The recruit must be a graduate, who is currently unemployed or underemployed, as required by Highland Council’s Graduate Recruitment Programme.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead on weekly/monthly/quarterly marketing meetings
  • Administer digital media platforms and communications
  • Administer Equal Adventure’s customer relation management (CRM) system
  • Create and co-ordinate annual calendar of trade shows, events and other opportunities to promote EA training and products
  • Co-ordinate events, including liaison with event organisers, venues and Equal Adventure representatives, and the preparation of demonstration equipment and marketing resources/materials
  • Co-ordinate festivals and summer programmes, including liaison with venues, staff and volunteers, and preparation of equipment and resources/materials
  • Co-ordinate Equal Adventure’s presence at events
  • Market and sell training, products and events to current and new customers
  • Co-ordinate training programmes, including liaising with tutors, centres, venues and participants and preparing training resources
  • Provide administrative support for training courses and programmes as necessary
  • Attend monthly and quarterly training meetings
  • Liaise with Equal Adventure tutors/agents and centres to ensure their compliance with administrative procedures
  • Liaise with current and new customers to create a strong brand identity for Equal Adventure, as
    • the lead organisation involved in the provision of training, equipment and delivery of inclusive outdoor adventure and active lifestyles with disabled people

Qualifications – Essential:

  • Educated to a minimum of HND level
  • Standard/GCSE English Language
  • Standard/GCSE Mathematics
  • Standard/GCSE IT or equivalent

Qualifications – Desirable:

  • Education to degree level
  • Event management qualification
  • First Aid at work
  • Full, clean driving licence

Key Skills – Essential:

  • Computer literacy and ability to use Microsoft Office programmes including Word and Excel
  • Multimedia experience, including using Facebook, Twitter
  • Experience using online IT tools such as Dropbox, Podio and Google
  • Liaison with staff and clients based throughout the UK
  • Prepare routine documents, including emails and reports, with correct use of the English language (spelling and grammar)
  • Develop, maintain and improve computer and paper-based filing and database systems
  • Answer and respond to telephone and email enquiries, passing on accurate messages as required.

Key Skills – Desirable:

  • Using You Tube (video editing)
  • Managing customer relations management (CRM) system
  • Ability to create and maintain standard operating procedures
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Understanding of the outdoor industry
