EA Expeditions Inclusion Statement

Your aim as an Expedition Member

Is to work with the EA team to ensure that you can take a full independently mobile and self-medicating role.

The Expedition Environment

Recognise that the expedition environment is a dynamic and sometimes fragile environment and that you need to be able to develop the capacity in the training and preparation phase to move around in a safe, self-managed and sustainable manner.

Your Commitment and Training

During the training and preparation phase, you will be supported and guided to develop your capacity so that you can move from passenger to participant to performer so that you can release your potential and develop your capacity in the expedition environment.

Equal Adventure Staff Role in Your Expedition

The role of EA staff on your expedition to guide you and advise you so that you are able to take challenges in an appropriate manner. This may also include suggesting alternative activities so that you are able to manage your safety, independence, and personal care without impacting on the needs and experience of others. In essence, the team is there to support you to take as full a part as reasonable and safe in the expedition so that you can enjoy the journey and the comradeship that the shared expedition experience is able to bring.

Expedition Engagement Options

To ensure that you are able to participate in the most meaningful manner regardless of disability or impairment in a potentially physically and mentally demanding expedition. The EA team have identified three expedition pathways as our commitment to your inclusion.
