Each programme hosts a number of projects that have evolved from a very functional people centred process, ensuring that the final product meets the needs of real people.
Centre Equipment Programme The Centre Equipment programme seeks to provide a range of inclusive aids to facilitate movement around centres or to be used in conjunction with other EA innovations. Products The Seat - Versatile cushion cover system Postural Support Programme The Postural Support programme focuses on promoting and maintaining good posture whilst exercising in the gym or when participating in outdoor sport. The EAD team deals with issues of skin care and symmetry to create products such as the Millennium Award-winning Aquabac. Products Aquabac - Postural support system Hand Function Programme EAD’s Hand Function programme develops equipment and resources for athletes with limited hand function or upper limb amputations. We create products that complement conventional hand-held sports equipment such as paddles and rackets. Products Fist III - Grip for sport and everyday tasks Field Hygiene Programme The Field Hygiene programme addresses the needs of everyone to perform daily living tasks with ease and dignity in the outdoors. Environmental issues such as waste disposal and health and safety have been balanced to create products such as the Field Toilet. Products Field Toilet - Lightweight, folding expedition toilet. Clothing Programme The Clothing programme explores activity-specific requirements of clothing for the functional and physiological needs of the active individual. Products Centre Clothing - Inclusive outdoor clothing for centre use Moving Water Safety Programme The Moving Water Safety programme tackles transferring issues to facilitate independent and assisted access to craft. Water safety and performance issues are addressed through the development of personal protective equipment. Products Fish II - Leg Loops and Paddle Retainer. Products in development Lite Kite - personal flotation device for individuals with lower body mobility needs Inclusive Climbing Programme The Inclusive Climbing programme develops equipment and resources for disabled climbers and mountaineers. Products include rope-based ascending and descending equipment and the Millennium Award-winning Kite I climbing harness. Products Kite II Harness - Inclusive climbing harness, developed EAD’s ‘barrier free’ ethos is not confined to off-the-shelf products and has led to partnerships that create inclusive outdoor fitness circuits in forest settings and orienteering trails. Products Trim Trail - Inclusive outdoor fitness equipment Mobility Programme - in development Currently we are developing a number of projects looking at moving and handling and mobility and transferring while adventure travelling. Products CanGO - lifting frame/hoist Snow Sports Programme - in development The Snow Sports programme is the latest addition to the collection of programmes. We have recently begun a small pilot project in snow board bindings for people who wear prosthesis. Products SBS snowboard bindings |

Equal Adventure Developments develops resources and products that can be used to create opportunities to access adventure and active lifestyles. Research and development of products is kept separate from our manufacture and sales, to attempt to keep the retail costs as low as possible and stay true to our not-for-profit ethos. We work with small batch production. While some products are manufactured annually, others are manufactured upon demand. Lead times are given upon enquiry or at the time of ordering, as we are not always able to hold stock. Please ensure you consider this when timing your order with us.
