Inclusive Duke of Edinburgh

Looking to undertake a Duke of Edinburgh expedition as an individual, school group, or just with your friends? We can support you from beginning to end!
Our DofE program is fully inclusive, and aims to provide young people a challenging and fulfilling expedition either on foot, via canoe, or using our Boma all-terrain wheelchairs.
We are an Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for the DofE Award Scheme, and ensure that our expeditions are:

  • Bespoke to the individual or group, accommodating any and all complex needs.
  • Delivered in partnership with schools and organisations, ensuring professional and inclusive approaches to DofE delivery.
  • Inclusive of the John Muir award program, upon request.
  • Self-powered, promoting independence and self-efficacy. We’re here just to support you – it’s YOUR adventure!

Our DofE team will provide supervision, guidance and assessment in-line with the Official Award Schemes for Bronze, Silver or Gold. We hope to empower and enable any young person regardless of disability to achieve this prestigious award, and create cherished memories along the way.

Our training includes important and transferable skills:

  • Navigation/Route Planning – learn the fundamentals of map and compass work, and take charge of planning your expedition experience.
  • Campcraft – providing participants with the skills and knowledge to camp safely, cook a hot meal, live hygienically in the great outdoors and leave no trace.
  • First Aid/Emergency Management – basic first aid and incident management training, enabling you to look after yourself and others in emergency situations.
  • Teamwork – Undertaking team development, working alongside others, improving communication and understanding the needs of all those in the team.

Expedition timescales:
Bronze: 2 days, 1 night (6 hrs planned activity each day)
Silver: 3 days, 2 nights (7 hrs planned activity each day)
Gold: 4 days, 3 nights (8 hrs planned activity each day)
